Terms & safety

The basics of using Steeple, and how trust and safety work here. This is a plain-English summary for our early preview.

What Steeple is

Steeple is a noticeboard that helps people find local community spaces and connect with the venues that run them. We are not the owner, operator, or manager of any space listed here, and we are not a party to any arrangement you make with a venue.

Listings & bookings

Venues are responsible for their own listings — descriptions, photos, pricing, availability, and house rules. Any booking, payment, or agreement is made directly between you and the venue. Always confirm the details with the venue before you rely on them.

Trust & safety

We confirm the identity of the people who run each venue: a verified host has signed in with Google or Apple, so we know who they are. Verification tells you who you're dealing with — it isn't a safety inspection or an endorsement.

Steeple does not run background checks on hosts or organisers, and we don't vet how spaces are used. Venues are responsible for the safeguarding of their own premises and activities, and everyone using a space should bring the same good sense they'd use with any local venue: go and look first, ask questions, and trust your judgement.

If something doesn't look right about a listing, please let us know so we can look into it.

Acceptable use

Use Steeple lawfully and respectfully. Don't post false or misleading listings, and don't use the contact details of a venue for spam or anything other than a genuine enquiry.

Liability

Because Steeple simply introduces neighbours to one another, we can't accept responsibility for the condition of a space, the conduct of a host or organiser, or the outcome of any arrangement made through the site. To the extent the law allows, Steeple is provided "as is".

Changes

We'll update these terms as Steeple grows, and we'll publish a full, dated version before any public launch or app-store release.
